A Season of Change

April 2025

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain..." -- Hebrews 6:19

A Season of Change

Jean is transitioning out of the primary donor relations role and into accounts payable at SonSet Solutions. She is training and being trained. This is on top of transitioning out of her former role as pastoral secretary at our church and into the bookkeeper role: training and being trained.

Change isn't easy. Of course, the biggest change has been greatest for John's mother. There have been changes for us as well with the loss of John's father.

Perhaps you've also been grappling with significant changes recentlyBut there is a constant in our lives that keeps us steady, and hopefully we will be counted faithful. Hebrews 6:19 proves to be one that comes to mind, regardless of the translation we have.

It describes hope as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. This hope is cast on Christ, who is unseen but serves to keep our soul steady and immovable. It is compared to an anchor for a ship, providing security and stability in the midst of life's challenges. The hope is Jesus, our true High Priest, and it keeps us firmly abiding in Him.

Changed Lives

Samburu warriors have exchanged their guns for peace due to the radio programming of Radio Ashe, our partner in Samburu, Kenya. One warrior became a born-again believer and encouraged three others, who also became followers of Christ. Home groups have been started around the radio programs, and nine churches have been planted in remote villages. In addition, 56 of these Samburu warriors have turned their backs from fighting to starting 10 registered businesses in the area. These 56 have been changed, and their lives show it!

Radio Ashe Kenya hosted an open house event where the Samburu warriors had a chance to share their testimonies with their own people, in their own language. What a powerful event! SonSet Solutions has been blessed to be able to provide a transmitter and SonSet® radios to them.

Momentum for Kingdom Impact

February 2025

“The constant tenor and spirit of our lives should be adoring gratitude, love, reverence, and thanksgiving to the Most High.” – C.H. Spurgeon

Momentum for Kingdom Impact

Praise and glory to God for the progress SonSet Solutions has made organizationally and for the momentum that has been built over the past 10 years. This momentum propels SonSet Solutions forward as we embrace more opportunities to harness technology for God’s great Kingdom purposes. We rejoice in the kingdom impact over this last decade. In addition, we have been honored and blessed to assist more than 700 ministries in 111 countries during this time.

"It was sink or swim – we had to learn quickly. Our nascent vision eventually materialized into organizational structure as we learned how to navigate this new environment. Now, a decade later, we have grown to 53 staff members and an operating budget of over $3 million."

To Kansas and Back Again

We so appreciate your prayers – we know we're supported by prayer as we have dealt with various challenges recently, particularly with the passing of John's father.
Also, we recently had a great trip to Kansas.

Solar Ministry Toolkits

On our way back from Kansas, we visited a supporting church, who is also a partner ministry. We heard about their most recent Solar Ministry Toolkit installation in very remote Ecuador at a church that ministers to the Waorani and Quechua people groups.

Pastor Carlos and the Gareno community there were very excited and reported:
"And then the moment arrived. We held our breath as the first light bulb flickered to life, casting a warm, steady glow across the church. I heard gasps and then cheers. Children hugged their parents, and hands were raised in prayer and thanksgiving...The toolkit was more than technology – it was hope, illuminating the dark nights in a community that went without power for hours every day."

A small side note: you may have heard of Dayuma Caento, the first Christian member of the Waorani. The Waorani were made famous by their killing of five Christian missionary men.  Dayuma is Pastor Carlos' great-grandmother!

 Praises
  • Please thank the Lord with us - we now have four young adults raising their support team! Breck, Luke and Michael are appointees who have committed to full-time service, and Ethan has committed to our one-year Discover program. Ask the Lord to surround them with people who will faithfully pray for them and partner financially.

 Prayer Requests
  • We thought Jean would have had her mammogram this past week, but the clinic moved her appointment to March.
  • Please continue to pray as John's mom, Susan, is navigating all the changes and for us as we assist her. Mom was hospitalized briefly and returned to Hubbard Hill rehab.
